Mark Hennessey

Poet Mark Hennessy has taught sculpture workshops for children at the Nelson-Atkins Museum. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and has worked as an artist for NYC's Save the Music campaign. He has taught in Poland as well as in the States. He was awarded Best Poetry Performance by the readers/writers of The Kansas City Pitch and the Academy of American Poets University prize by Guggenheim fellow John Baliban. He has published introductions for the collected works of Defoe and Wilde, travelogues for College Music Journal, flash fiction/paintings in Axcess Magazine, and poetry collections Cue the Bedlamand I Lost it All the Night the Day the Circus Came to Town. He is a doctoral candidate in good standing and expects to receive his PhD in 2012. He loves the Lawrence Arts Center and hopes to help support it and its mission.
